Emily Barboza
Kinship Activities Director/Administrator
As the Kinship Activities Director/Administrator at Expressions of Hope, Emilly is responsible for creating, organizing, and facilitating events that uplift and support foster, resource, and kinship families.
Her role centers on building a strong sense of community, connection, and hope for those navigating the unique journey of kinship care.
Emilly finds deep joy in her work—especially in organizing monthly Parent Night Out events, where she curates fun and engaging activities for children, giving their caregivers a well-deserved evening of rest. She sees these moments not only as acts of service but as opportunities to directly support the well-being of both parents and children in a lighthearted, meaningful way.
What Emilly enjoys most about working with Expressions of Hope is the sense of fulfillment that comes from making a real difference in people’s lives. Whether she’s offering hands-on childcare support or distributing essential items like clothing and toiletries, she is committed to bringing relief, joy, and dignity to the families EOH serves. She also deeply values being part of a mission-driven team of women who share her passion for service and bring their unique strengths to the work.
Emilly earned her degree in Biology with a minor in Latin American Latino Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her previous experience as an optometric assistant allowed her to connect with the community through personalized care. Though new to the foster and kinship space, her commitment to offering both tangible resources and emotional support speaks to her heart for service and her drive to bring comfort during times of need.
“I believe every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered—especially those navigating the unique challenges of kinship care. My hope is that through our programs and services, families not only receive the essentials they need, but also walk away feeling a deeper sense of dignity, connection, and hope for the future.”
