Susan Herman

As the Board Chair for EOH, Susan helps individuals and families by extending the reach of the support options provided by Expressions of Hope throughout the multiple areas it provides services.

Previous success in small business development and experience as a foster parent prepared Ms. Herman to take on the role of Executive Director of Help One Child, a similarly mission-minded collaborative partner of EOH, serving from 2005-2017. Focusing on family support, volunteer deployment, and parent education, her team significantly extended the organization's reach throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Susan has served on the board of EOH since 2017 following her relocation to Napa County.

When asked about why she enjoys working with these families, Susan said, “It takes an open heart to open your home to a child in need.”
