Tom Smith
Board Member
As a Board Member of EOH, Tom helps individuals and families through his oversight of Expressions of Hope activities and support services.
Tom Smith is a devoted and experienced professional with a Master's degree in Religious Education and a background in youth ministry. With a passion for serving children and teenagers, Tom has found his calling at EOH, where he leads a monthly support group for foster dads called Dadsndonuts, delivers furniture to foster and biological families, and works closely with his wife, Peggy Smith, in supporting families.
Having been foster parents for 27 years, Tom and his wife understand the emotional roller coaster and challenges that come with caring for children from difficult backgrounds. Tom finds great satisfaction in working with adoptive families, offering encouragement, support, and insights from his personal experiences. He believes that the need for loving families is immense and takes pride in making a difference.
At EOH, Tom especially enjoys building relationships with other foster dads and witnessing the healing process of children who have experienced trauma. He is driven by the desire to create positive change and asks himself, "What disturbs you? What are you going to do about it?" By working with Tom, families can expect a dedicated and empathetic ally in their journey to provide a nurturing environment for children in need.
